Donors and Parental Rights
Donor Parental Rights
If you are concerned about your parental rights as a sperm donor, we encourage you to learn more about becoming a sperm donor via a sperm bank. Here are some things you should know about NW Cryobank and how sperm donors are protected:
- Contracts for the purchase and use of donor sperm are made between NW Cryobank and our clients; thus, no contract directly occurs between recipient and donor
- Our sperm donors’ identities are not known to those purchasing their sperm
- Our sperm donors sign a legal document waiving all parental rights and responsibilities to children conceived from the purchase from their sperm
- By signing a contract with us, the donor is exempt from child support or any other responsibilities of a legal parent; sperm donors may not participate in our program until this document has been signed
If you have any questions regarding this matter, we encourage you to contact our donor department at firstname.lastname@example.org.
